From the time Ravi Shankar made the Beatles famous I have always loved sitar music. I saw Ravi at Coe College in the mid-’70’s. Here is a clip from the Concert for Bangladesh. Note Ravi’s sense of humor after the hippies at the show, knowing nothing about sitar music, applauded when Ravi’s band finished tuning:
While poking around in youtube I ran across this clip of Ravi Shankar’s daughter, Anoushka, and her band mixing it up with Jethro Tull on “Locomotive Breath”. Who woulda thunk that?!?
I gotta go…serenity now, serenity now.
